Stuttering People Blogs - share a Problem, view Speech difficulties, explore Causes

I was in a situation that I was in a LD room (Learning Disabled) which basically ment that like elementry school where you were taught everything in one room you did the same thing in high school.

I made friends in the class that I was in all through high school it was just outside of class I had trouble with. I have a twin brother, Jeff who unlike me was in the "mainstream" or regular classes.

Like every teenager out there who was a bit different the majority of the school I got picked on and teased. I was so upset and withdrawn I couldn't take it.

I thought about this very seriously and came to this conclusion... If I wanted to get rid of this fear I needed to DO something about it. And That SOMETHING was to accept my stutter.

My stuttering played a big part in all this. see, I realized being in that class for 4 years and doing well I may add, I felt comfortable and relaxed my stuttering got less and less. Plus the people who knew me didn't care one bit about my stuttering. They all knew I stuttered.

What I am getting at is this... Its the perception on what others see you as. If you appear to others that it bothers you then the teasing and joking will continue but if you don't let it bother you those same people will pick and tease other people because its not doing what it was to supose to do which is to make you feel bad about yourself.
